Analysis of minimalist covers and planning

I chose these covers due to the use of colours. The tones are neutral rather than bright or vibrant which makes them appear minimalist and simple. A factor they all have in common is that the text for the cover lines or sub-headings are small, to further create that minimal effect, instead of having too much text that could distract the viewers from the photo. The black and white front cover contains a contrast between the two tones, however they work well together, maintaining the simplicity of the cover. The clothes that the models are wearing are neutral toned and they match with the colours of the text, background etc. Therefore, for my covers this inspires me to do the same. It is clear to see that these photos were shot in a studio or in front of a white background. This helps avoid distractions and allows the viewers to focus more on the models and text. Moreover, the font of the text is classic and simple, contributing to the minimalist effect. So, from analyzing these covers, I will shoot my photos in the studio to have control of the lighting and background which will be a white background and soft lighting for flattering photos. One of my models will be wearing a black top and black jeans with a soft pink coat. These colours will work well together and as only two colours will be worn, it will create a minimalist effect. Another model will be wearing a white shirt with black jeans, so these two tones will produce a simplistic appearance for the cover. I will make sure to make the font small but readable, with a classic or modern font for my aimed effect.
